Vantage — Privacy Policy

Vantage is a scouting app for VEX V5RC teams, made by Anderson Wang (team 66556Z). This page describes what the app stores, where it goes, and how to remove it.

No ads, no analytics, no trackers, no third-party advertising SDKs. Nothing is sold or shared. Most of what you create stays on your phone; the parts that sync exist so your own scouting group can see them.

On your device

Your scouting: team notes, match notes, pick lists, auton routes.
App settings, favourite teams, your team number.
A cached copy of public VEX data, so the app works without a signal.

Deleting the app removes all of it.

On the server

Vantage's server runs on Cloudflare. It holds:

If you sign in: an identifier from Sign in with Apple and the display name you choose, plus your favourite teams, team list, auton routes, profile photo and join date, so they follow you to a new phone. Vantage never receives your Apple password, and receives your name or email only if Apple passes them and you choose to share them.
If you join a scouting group: the scouting your group shares and which members belong to it. A group's scouting is visible only to members an owner has approved — holding the join code allows a request to join, not access to the contents.
If you turn on notifications: a push token per device and which alert types you enabled.

What Vantage does not collect

No location, contacts, or photos beyond a profile picture you pick.
No advertising identifier, analytics, crash-reporting SDK, or tracking.
No payment information. Vantage does not process payments and contains no purchases.

Who else sees it

Your scouting group sees the scouting you add to it. That is the only sharing the app does.
Cloudflare hosts the server and stores this data on Anderson's behalf.
Apple handles Sign in with Apple and delivers push notifications.
Public VEX information comes from RobotEvents and robotstatistics. Those requests are made by Vantage's server, so your device is not identified to them.

Deleting your account

In the app: Profile → your account → Delete my account. That removes your account, saved teams, auton routes, photo and push tokens, and takes you out of every scouting group.

Scouting you added to a group stays with that group — it is your team's shared work and other members are still using it. A group owner can delete the whole group, which removes it for everybody. Backups are kept up to 90 days, then deleted automatically.

Children

Vantage is used by VEX competitors, many of whom are under 18. The same minimal data is collected from every user regardless of age, and there is no advertising, no advertising profile, and no sale or sharing of data to anyone.

An account holds only what is listed above: a sign-in identifier, an optional display name and photo, the team numbers and favourites entered in the app, and any scouting written. Vantage never asks for a date of birth, a home address, a school, or a phone number, and has no way to contact a user outside the app except by a push notification they enabled.

A parent or guardian may delete a minor's account through Profile → your account → Delete my account, or by emailing the address below. Such a request is handled exactly as described under Deleting your account above, and scouting already shared with a team's group is subject to the same rule — a group owner can delete the group to remove it for everyone.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects what is collected, the date above changes and the app's release notes will say so.
